It started out all smiles... and some tears

Well everything started out really smooth... Got to LAX right on time, checked luggage, went through security in about 25 min, hung out for a couple of hours and boarded the plane. Seemed much simpler than I had ever experienced at an airport before.

As we took off everyone got settled and started their first of many movies. Shortly after that we were served dinner and Kailee asked me "Mom, is this ok to eat, can I get food poisoning?" (Choice between chicken or pasta, we all 4 chose pasta thinking that might be the lesser of all evils) I of course replied "No, you will be fine." And I bet you can imagine what happened next!

Yes, Kailee threw up her dinner at her feet about 30 minutes later. As Jeff cleaned up the seat and the floor (best daddy ever!) I took Kailee to the restroom to clean her up. This was the routine for the rest of the ride (7 hours) but the other times we made it to the restroom. :) Needless to say she went shoeless off of the plane but we made it to Munich, Germany! We were exhausted but glad the first big stretch of travel was over especially after the crazy landing!

After arriving in Germany we had to find a store that carried flip flops (because we thought that would be the cheapest way to go) so that Kailee didn't have to walk around in airplane socks. We finally found some that we thought would be a good price (in Cali they are around $10)... $42 later we had flip flops.

With a six hour layover some of us decided to venture out of the airport for fresh German air! Germany from the outside was very clean and organized. There wasn't too much to see around the airport but it was a treat to just be outside.

Next we arrived in Thessaloniki, Greece... safe and sound (a perfectly smooth ride) and all our luggage arrived safe and sound as well. It felt like nothing compared to the first one. :)

Off to Albania on our "party" bus! Our bus driver Jake was great! We finally arrived at the Albanian boarder and there were 4 buses in line before us with each bus full of people. Officials have to look at each passport and a manifesto that the bus driver should have on each bus. Right now it is 3:44 in the morning as I write this and we have already been here for an hour and a half with 3 buses still waiting. Trusting The Lord has a plan and a purpose! Will update ASAP!
