Chase's 2nd Birthday
While Jeff and Jacob were "fishing", Kailee and I went to my nephew, Chase's 2nd birthday party. Kailee had a lot of fun with her cousin, Isabella, playing games and eating cake. Family time is always filled with lots of smiles and laughter!
My sis in law, Patty and her boy
Me and Chase
Kailee takes pinatas very serious! ;)
Chase trying to help daddy put together the bike.
The small tricycle that needed to be put together... only took an hour! ;)
My brother trying to kill the piece of plastic! ;)
Fishing Day
Saturday, April 16th, Jeff and Jacob went fishing at Corona Lakes for the Men's Fish Off. I hear it was a long hot day with no fish. Jacob caught a small one and had to throw it back due to the lack of meat on it. ;) Jeff said they had a great time hanging out with friends despite the lack of excitement! No awards were brought home but I think time with your son has it's own rewards.

Jacob's Baptism
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." ~Ephesians 2:8-9
Back in September 2010 on a Wednesday night at youth group God opened Jacob's eyes to see his need for the Savior. And on Sunday, April 17th Jacob decided out of obedience to the Lord, he was going to share his testimony and be baptized. No words can express the joy I know all Christian parents experience when they see their children come to see their own sin and give their lives willingly to Jesus. Sunday was one of those moments. We are so proud of him and can't wait to see what God is going to do in and through him in the years to come. Here is his testimony...
My life before Christ was in sin, but I always thought that I had a great faith and that I loved God, because I was raised in a Christian home with Christian parents. Although my parents would tell what was right and wrong I never usually listened to that because I wanted to do what I wanted to do. I didn’t really know what a true faith was because I was so young and also because I hardly read His Word. I was actually a very disobedient child and did not want to listen to authority. But right around the time when I turned 11 or 12 I realized that my parents faith or just because I was their son meant nothing towards God. During this time I was in full rebellion and wanting nothing to do with God. Also during this time God had put people in my life to show me what was truth and what was not. Then I started to gain more knowledge about being saved and having your own salvation. But it took a whole year or so for me to realize what God was calling me to do.
Christ drew me to Himself on a Wednesday night at youth group on September 29th. That night Rod Shackelford taught on the “Woman at the Well”. But after Josh Petras came up and said “Christ knows everybody’s hearts and if you feel that Christ is calling you to repent and come to Him, then we will have staff leaders in the back for you to talk to”. I knew then that God had known every thought and intention of my heart. So I knew that there was no way that I could save myself and I needed a savior, Jesus Christ. Then I felt Christ pulling me to go back and talk and repent, but I also felt another feeling telling me not to go back and to just walk away. I could not take the battle between both any longer so Christ led me to the decision to go back and repent my offences to Christ. Right then when I was thinking about repentance I thought of something that one of my pastors had said a little while ago and it was “When you sin it’s like spitting in God’s eye”. And that broke me and I thought about how my sin was a huge offence to God no matter how big the sin. So then I walked back and I sat down with Jorge Ramirez. And that night at 13 years old Christ saved me from my sins and now I am one of His children!
Now I want to obey Christ and authorities that He has put in my life. Now every time I sin I immediately get that feeling of conviction by the Holy Spirit and repent to whoever I sinned against. I am very thankful that The Holy Spirit is with me guiding me through life and this crazy world. Even though I do sin and fall short of Christ, I now am convicted by my sin. The Holy Spirit now shows me what is right and what is wrong in different situations and is steering me on the right path. I am also thankful that Christ has picked me, the worst of all, and has chosen me hto be with Him in Heaven forever. It trips me out that there are so little in the world that believe, but Christ chose me to be with Him.

Mystery Night 2011
This was our first experience with Mystery Night and it was definitely a lot of fun! Jeff and I chose to be at Richie's Diner and get some use out of our 56' Chevy, "Frenchie", as my niece named it. A lot goes into preparing for this night. The shopping to find just the right costume alone is enough stress. I had quite a poodle skirt issue. I ordered a poodle skirt (off the internet of course) and the thing was huge, I am sure this is what they actually looked like but I thought I was going to be swallowed by this giant black piece of felt. So I did what any other girl would have done... I ordered a different one! ;) Thank you Shelby for doing my hair and Megan for the letterman's jacket (awesome addition to my outfit)!
The night turned out great, despite the lingering threat of rain. Jeff, Kailee and I had a great time hanging out at Richie's, at one point I think the employees decided we were freezing and started bringing us coffee and hot chocolate. Thanks Richie's Diner for your compassion! At the end of the night we all met back at Thompson Middle School to figure out the winner and to share the Gospel with around 300 Jr. High and High School kids. To God be all the glory!

Jake's 14th Birthday
April 5th was Jacob's 14th Birthday. He enjoyed a weekend long celebration. It started off on Friday the 1st with some friends, pizza and Xbox. Jake wanted to go surfing for his birthday because normally it is sunny in April or for the most part, so Saturday we drove down to Oceanside, Jake and a friend rented surfboards, but because of the extreme cold and wind, they were in the water for about 20 minutes. Sunday was time to celebrate with family so we went over Grandma Bobbi's house, she made Jake's favorite, meat and potatoes! It's always a great time when the Price's and the Brady's get together! ;) We got Jake a new catcher's glove and everyone else gave him money for his Ipod Touch he has been wanting for a couple of years now. He almost has enough to get it! Just a couple more lawn mowings!
Finally Tuesday came (the 5th, his real Birth Day), Jake woke up to me singing happy birthday bright and early in the morning before school! I love being a mom, oh the things you get to do! ;) Jake had a baseball game that night, which we won by the skin of our teeth. Grandma Debbie came down to watch with us and after the game we all went to Bob's Pizza with the team.
It is amazing to me how fast life goes by, just when we think our kids are never going to walk or talk or do things on their own, we turn around and they have grown into young men or women. Jeff and I have prayed and hoped that Jake grow to be a young man of honor and integrity who loves his Savior far above anything this world could offer him. God has been so faithful in his life to always show him a better way. And we continue to pray for God's arms of love and discipline to hold him right where he needs to be. "The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands." ~Psalm 138:8
We are so proud of the man God is growing Jacob to be! Thank you Lord for the gift of our son!
Our other children! ;)
Raegan had to tell Jacob something very important! Can't remember what that was but it is always something profound!
Our niece, Raegan
Kailee loves her brother so much!
Our niece, Cara
Aunt Stephanie (Jeff's sister)
Singing Happy Birthday in our family is always a "special" treat! hahaha
He hit a double that night... all the way to the fence!
Jake's favorite position!
